| Pour mieux connaître les facteurs qui agissent sur les interactions trophiques entre le phytoplancton et le milieu nutritif, nous avons étudié la capacité hétérotrophe du phytoplancton en conditions contrôlées, non axéniques, au laboratoire. Les expériences réalisées avec la [U-14C] glutamine, étaient basées sur l'étude des vitesses d'assimilation. Les résultats obtenus avec deux espèces du genre Gymnodinium et une diatomée ont été vérifiés lors d'efflorescences en eau côtière et estuarienne, montrant l'adaptation des algues au milieu riche en substances organiques et leur capacité hétérotrophe en fonction de l'éclairement. | S'inscrivant dans le cadre général des phénomènes d'eutrophisation des écosystèmes marins côtiers, cette étude a été réalisée, en 1993 et 1994, dans la partie orientale de la Baie de Seine, entre Le Havre et Antifer, zone soumise périodiquement à d'importants développements phytoplanctoniques. Pourquoi ce développement s'effectue-t-il dans la partie la plus éloignée de l'estuaire de la Seine alors que les concentrations de sels nutritifs y sont moins abondants qu'au débouché de l'estuaire ? Si l'eutrophisation est évidente, les modalités de la croissance phytoplanctonique ne sont pas connues. | Phytoplankton distribution and primary productivity were investigated in the Bay of Seine (eastern English Channel, France) in spring and early summer of 1992 and 1994. In 1992, the horizontal distribution of phytoplankton species was determined over the whole Bay of Seine. In 1994, species distribution and primary productivity were studied along the salinity gradient of the Seine plume and in the neighbouring marine waters. Phytoplankton distribution was characterised by the permanent diatom dominance from early spring to early summer. The spring bloom did not occur uniformly over the bay, but was initiated in the marine waters, in the middle of the bay and progressed towards the coast where it developed, in June, in the diluted waters of the Seine plume.... |
